Winter Solstice Mini-Retreat

ProvincieNoord-Holland (NH)

This weekend in December marks the winter solstice, wherein we have our longest night and our shortest day. Revered in many religious and spiritual traditions the winter solstice, or mid-winter, is a time to allow ourselves to cultivate and discover our own inner light, to illuminate our lives. Solstice also marks the beginning of welcoming more light and a rebirth of the sun. It is a time to harness our inner fire for practice, life and what we are passionate about. It wakes us up perhaps from our physical and metaphorical slumber and encourages us to renew our commitment to our path and practice. The winter solstice serves as a time for us to awaken to what we need to live a life with love and to help us understand that darkness sometimes precedes light. If you have had a difficult year, or there is a personal inner or outer struggle you have been going through, solstice is time to step out of the darkness and into the light of awareness and move forwards.
To harness our individual energy and create space to settle and awaken to peace the program for Winter Solstice is dynamic, drawing together a number of elements, and ending with chai and snacks made by Carol. 14:00 - 14:45: Fire Flow, an all levels flow to create an inner fire or tapas to set free what feels stagnant in our body and mind. 14:45 - 15:30: Deep Rest, restorative yoga to soothe body and mind and return us to a place of stillness and quiet. 15:30: Guided Meditation 16:00 - 17:00: Yin by Candlelight: A journey into quiet, reflection and stillness. 17:00 Nourishing snacks and divine chai made with love
